2025 Fishing Tournament Postponed to 2026

After some very long meetings and discussions surrounding Fish for Freedom 2025, our Fish for Freedom committee and Twin Lakes Trail Blazers, have decided we will be postponing Fish for Freedom this year, 2025. We will return for August 14&15 2026. We are hoping to make some changes that will benefit not only our fisheries, but also the tournament itself. 

This was not an easy decision, so please be kind in your comments. We have explored every option available. This tournament is very near and dear to me (Josie). I have poured my heart and soul into this tournament over the last 10 years. I have been fishing or volunteering at this tournament for over 20 years! But at our last club meeting the option to take a year off was voted on and approved. We want to take a long look at the way this tournament is being run, and what changes can be implemented. 

We want to thank our sponsors for always stepping up and giving us support. As well as a special thanks to all the volunteers, we have no paid volunteers at this tournament, and rain or shine they always show up and give us their all, to make sure this tournament would keep rolling. 

We are so very grateful to all our participants that come back every year with enthusiasm! You are the reason we have been pushing so hard to hang in there. I look forward to what the future will hold and what we can implement to make this tournament what it should be. I see great things for it!

Note: Any participants that won free entries last year will maintain those for the 2026 tournament.

This year we have a $500 Referral prize for referring New Registrants!

If you were a Fisherwoman OR a Captain in 2023 and refer a team that was NOT in the 2023 tournament you will be entered into a draw for $500! It does not matter if they fished in any previous year, the REFERRING person can be entered into the draw for the New or Returning Team.

On the Registration form there will be a spot for the registering team to put the name of the person that referred them. This can be an individual name OR a whole team. And you can be entered multiple times! The more teams you refer, the more entries!

2021 Tournament Is A Wrap!

2021 Tournament has come and gone. Hosting anything during a pandemic is challenging but we were thrilled to have 79 teams experience our 25th annual tournament.

2021 Tournament Information and Update

Important Tournament Information

Updated August 5, 2021 

  • Pick up of Registration packages will be on Friday August 13th, from 5-7 in the CO-OP parking lot, behind the C-Store.
  • For those that purchased 50/50 tickets, they will be stapled to the rules.
  • There will be a printed copy of the rules in your registration. Please review these carefully! There have been some minor changes, including a change in the boundary, which now includes south of the marina to the Francois Finlay Dam. All questions pertaining to rules can be asked at registration.
  • The Friday night supper is still cancelled, as well as Saturday results.
  • We will be doing a Facebook live to announce winners, posting results to Facebook and also calling the winners, in case there is someone without Facebook.
  • Prize money will be e-transferred.
  • We still have some t-shirts for sale, and 50/50 tickets. We are accepting etransfer prior to registration or, if there are still tickets available, cash at registration. The 50/50 draw will be done on Saturday after the tournament with a Facebook live.
  • The Dam Smokehouse will be offering a lunch order. They will hand out the lunches Saturday morning at the top of the hill. Faron is working on an order form, it will be posted to Facebook so you can place preorders.
  • Flights will be posted next week.
